London is blossoming with culture and entertainment. It’s a great place to visit if you’re a tourist and are looking to learn as much as you can about the UK. There are so many genres of music for fans to choose from and enjoy, especially if you are lucky enough to go and see one of the amazing live events the city has to offer.
Here are the top 5 things all music fans need to do when they are enjoying a trip around London.
Visit the West-End
The West-End hosts some of the biggest shows, including classics like Phantom of the Opera, Les Misérables and Wicked, to hit the stage. It’s also the place to see upcoming musicals, like Hamilton, Six and Dear Evan Hansen.
You can book tickets to see these shows online, however, if you like the idea of not knowing what you’re going to see, you can visit one of the London ticket booths to see which musical tickets are going cheap that day. That way you can see a show that you didn’t expect – and save a little money too.
The Beatles- Abbey Road
Naturally, when you visit London, you may be thinking about all of the normal tourist areas you can visit. However, if you want to have a music themed trip, the main place to mark on your map is the iconic Abbey Road.
While the street may not look like much, Beatles fans have been making trips to it for years in order to get a picture of themselves in the same pose on the zebra crossing. This is the sort of trip that you can easily slot into your plans as it is quick and easy to locate and visit.
London Record Shops
When most people think of iconic music venues, they will probably think of the Hard Rock Café. While you are more than welcome to visit this London restaurant, you may also want to see some of the amazing record stores that are dotted all over London.
Once you have left the best Dorsett Hotel, City of London has to offer you, make sure to visit some of the best music shops, including Honest Johns and Phonica Records. These venues offer so many genres of music, you will definitely be leaving with some new albums in your hands.
The Royal Albert Hall
If you are a fan of classical music, The Royal Albert Hall is the place to be to catch some of the best orchestra performances, operas and operettas. The performances at this hall are extremely diverse.
Sometimes you may even catch popular singers, such as Ed Sheeran, performing an intimate gig there!
The Horniman Museum
Do you fancy yourself as a musical intellectual? You don’t need to go to concerts to immerse yourself in music. Go to The Horniman Museum to check out the amazing collection of instruments on display.
You can learn about different instruments through the ages, but also check out the gorgeous collection of antique pianos. It’s well worth a visit!
Hello, all is going fine here and of course, everyone is sharing data,
that’s really fine, keep up writing.
Something to check off my bucket list is to have a picture at the zebra crossing along Abbey Road… Beatles is legendary!
