Your Guide to the Ultimate Branson, MO Road Trip

Branson is the perfect road trip destination for a couple of reasons. Not only is it a natural paradise with awe-inspiring views, it’s also home to many interesting things to do. Regardless if you’re traveling from the east, west, north or south, Branson is the perfect road trip destination located in middle America.

Planning for Your Road Trip

Before you hit the open road, it’s important to do some pre-planning. Prepare a budget, book your accommodations ahead of time, and map out where you’ll be stopping along the way. It’s okay to stay at roadside motels along the way, but, as far as Branson is concerned, there’s really nothing better than resort hotels in the Ozarks. There are lots of resorts in Branson, but those in the Ozarks feature stunning views, crystal clear lakes, and world class amenities.

Make sure to stock your vehicle with plenty of food and water, as well as emergency supplies. Your emergency kit should include road flares, so emergency responders can find you if you’re left stranded at the side of a road. Be wary of accepting food and water from any sources that don’t appear sanitary. A food or water borne illness will ruin your trip, so don’t take any unnecessary risks.

The Best Time to Visit Branson

Most travel experts agree that the best time to visit Branson is during early winter. No place gets into the holiday spirit quite like Branson, making it one of the country’s best places to visit during November and December. For fun in the sun, the summer months have plenty to offer.

Missouri does get very hot during summer months with average temperatures in the high 80s. It doesn’t cool down until around late fall (October). For the cheapest accommodation rates and seasonal deals, travel in January and February.

Things to Do in Branson

Branson has its tourist areas. These include Silver Dollar City, a theme park and one of Branson’s oldest attractions. More notable than the theme park is Marvel Cave, which allows visitors to walk through the cave and view the natural limestone formations. Other touristy things to do include taking the duck tour, visiting the Hollywood Wax Museum, and viewing the Gift of Lights (seasonal).

Hiking, fishing, and golfing are all world class in Branson. The mountain range also offers seasonal skiing, snowboarding, and other cold-weather activities. If you’re traveling during the warmer months, you may be content to simply soak up the rays on the shores of Table Rock Lake.

Where to Eat in Branson

Finally, you’re going to want to grab some grub on your visit to Branson. On the open road, you maybe weren’t treated to much fine dining or healthy culinary options. Settling into Branson will offer you the opportunity to eat more of what you like, as there are restaurants offering all sorts of unique faire.

For Mediterranean in the Midwest, consider a visit to Vasken’s Deli. The deli has existed since 1997 and offers delicious gyros, brisket, chicken shawarma, and baklava. A traditional deli, you can also purchase some grab and go items here. For a juicy steak, Level 2 Steakhouse is widely considered one of Branson’s best steakhouses. For dining in visually stimulating locales, consider visiting White River Fish House or Top of the Rock.

When it comes to road tripping, the most important thing is that you plan everything out. This is going to ensure the trip is rewarding, affordable, and goes exactly as planned. Also, give yourself plenty of time to see all the sights and do all the activities you want to.
