What's This?

What shoes to pair with the denim on denim lookJeans have been around for decades and have over time turned into one staple fashion item that just gets better and better. Everyone looks good in denim, no matter what shape or height happen to be because there’s a pair of jeans out there that will fit and look brilliant on. And what better shoes to wear with jeans than stylish ballet pumps?

The Golden Rules to Wearing Denim

There are a few golden rules to wearing denim and achieving a hot look – celebrities like Kate Moss have got it off to a tea – tight skinnies, lovely scarves, great off the shoulder tops and stylish short jackets with a pair of chic ballerinas on their feet. If you’re small with tiny feet, this is a great look to copy but if you’re on the bigger side, the look might be the best for you. Instead think flared jeans or boot cut jeans and pair these up to low heeled comfy sandals – you’ll look great and in proportion.

You can get away with wearing shorter skinny jeans with comfy sandals, but if you opt to wear flared jeans, the hem needs to fall at the bottom of the heel. This applies to flat or shoes with heels. If the hem of your jeans or pants sits any higher it will make your legs look shorter.

High Heels & Flared Jeans are a No-No

If you love wearing flared or boot cut jeans then remember high heels are a no-no. Instead opt for wedged or even platform heels although flat boots or sneakers look great with this style of jeans too.

Skinny jeans and knee high boots are very sexy, it’s a fashion marriage made in heaven. The great thing is this spring boots are really hot, so you can get away with wearing your skinnies with longer boots if the weather is not too hot. Remember, the higher the heel the longer and slimmer they will make your legs look.

Capris and Knee Length Jeans

When the warmer weather finally arrives then out come the capris and knee length or shorter jeans which are so easy to pair up with lots of shoe styles. Again the versatile wedge is a brilliant choice because they add height to a look which is both casual yet chic. Look out for shoes with delicate or bold colours and embellishments – they are definitely hot this spring.

What About Turned Up Jeans?

Turning up jeans has been a trend for a while now and continues to be so this spring. It’s a great look which is easy to pair up with lots of shoe styles – with the exception of ankle boots – not a hot look at all!

What About Denim Skirts?

Midis are hot this spring and denim skirts of all shapes are definitely in. Choosing the right shoes to wear is important because if you get it wrong it can ruin an overall look. Think higher heels when you wear a midi and make sure the hem of your skirt is right. If your hem line is too long you could be in the realms of a maxi – definitely not what you want. Think about accessories like a wide belt and long necklace and lots of bracelets to complete your look! The great thing about buying ladies shoes online is that you can see hundreds of pairs, styles and designs then you can check out a look to see if it is cool or not – life for fashionistas has suddenly been made easy!
