"Why Natural Environments Encourage Productivity"

Companies that are trying to save money on operating costs are starting to look at the idea of telecommuting. This is where the company allows an employee to work from home. In the case of in-house writers for marketing and research departments, the idea of moving home to work is something that could spur productivity.

When you work from home, you are normally given assignments to finish and deadlines. The schedule you keep is up to you. If you feel more productive working late at night, then working from home gives you that option. You are also able to wrap your personal schedule around your work schedule to get more done at home.

When you can work the hours that best suit you and be away from the distractions of the office, then that reduces your stress. A writer who feels less stress is going to be a more productive writer.

A writer is going to be able to feel more inspired in his home atmosphere than in an office setting. Using their tablet for at home use allows them to be surround by family pictures, the familiar sounds of the neighborhood and the calming influence of family pets which will help encourage inspiration.

Few things are more frustrating than writer’s block and each writer has his own way of handling this situation. When you work from home, you have the resources at your fingertips that allow you to relax and overcome writer’s block. Sometimes a writer can overcome writer’s block by getting away from work and just going for a drive. Working from an office, with all of its security and time management measures, can make this difficult.

When you are working out of an office, quitting time becomes the point in the day where your mind starts to shut down and the inspiration to write starts to wane. When you work from home, you are able to apply yourself without the feeling of constraint that an office can create.

When you know you are saving money, then it becomes easier to work harder. When a writer works from home, he is no longer paying for the daily expenses of gas to work, lunch every day and even that cup of coffee in the morning. There is also less wear and tear on his car which translates into a significant amount of savings. When you know you are saving money just because of where you work, it becomes easier to be productive.

Writers working from home can create any kind of workspace that they want. Posters that may be against company policy at work can be commonplace at the home work area. The writer can use whatever he feels he needs to create a productive and inspiring workplace.

In-house writers can be more productive and happier when they work from home. As companies attempt to save more money on operating costs, the idea of letting writers work from home is becoming more popular.
